| STREET MINISTRIES - Richmond Metro Area | ||
| Homeless Lunch Ministry | ||
|
SPC participates in two feeding ministries which serve the homeless people of Richmond – one at 2nd Baptist on the 2nd Thursday of every month and one at 2nd Presbyterian the first Monday of the month 4 times a year. Casseroles are prepared by volunteers for the Second Baptist feeding and team members transport casseroles and other food, serve and clean up after the meal. |

| CARITAS | ||
|
SPC welcomes approximately 40 homeless men and women for 6 nights (usually in March). About 200 SPC volunteers participate in this program, preparing and serving dinner, visiting with our guests and providing breakfast and bagged lunches. |

| Freedom House | ||
|
Freedom House helps the homeless sustain, obtain and maintain the skills and resources they need to lead them toward change and a better life. |

| Home Again (ESI Connections) | ||
|
SPC members volunteer for various tasks at Home Again. Home Again assists families and individuals who are homeless by providing emergency and transitional shelter and programs designed to build skills leading to self sufficiency. Home Again operates a family emergency shelter for women and children and a men's emergency shelter. There are 4 transitional programs for women and children, men, veterans, and single women. Volunteer opportunities include planning or assisting with activities for children, tutoring children, assisting adults and children with computer skills, preparing and serving meals, providing special entertainment. |

Good Samaritan Ministries is a Christian mission. We view and treat the problems of society from a Christian perspective. All counseling is based on the Bible. |

| Elijah House | ||
Elijah House Academy is a mission outreach to urban Richmond. It operates under the authority of an independent Board of Directors. EHA. is an educational resource center for families who want to enroll their children in a school that ensures a protected learning environment and reinforces Christian values. We believe that a child's education is the responsibility of the parent, not the state. We believe that every parent ought to have the freedom to choose the educational system which is best for the child. Based on a cooperative partnership with parents, the mission of EHA is to assist parents in providing a quality Christian education in a protected environment for the children of our city. |

| PRISON MINISTRIES | ||
| Angel Tree | ||
|
SPC members and friends purchase and wrap Christmas gifts for children of prisoners whose names are provided by Prison Fellowship, a national Christian based organization. Contact is made with the caregivers of the children to determine gift requests. Gifts are delivered to the children by middle school youth and parents. |

| Assisting Families of Inmates | ||
|
Donations help to provide transportation to 21 prisons, trained volunteers to chaperone children visiting their mothers, school-based counseling program for children, parent education, information, referrals, and family reunification support. |

| CIS - Communities in Schools (Mentoring) | ||
|
SPC members mentor children at Chalkley Elementary School. This is a weekly commitment working one on one with a child for the school year. |

| Massanetta Springs Conference Center | ||

Located in the heart of Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley, we strive to make Massanetta Springs a place where guests experience God's grace and hospitality. Continuing a tradition of service since the early 1900s, our staff and facilities serve over 20,000 guests each year. Opened as a Presbyterian conference center in 1922, Massanetta Springs is now a National Historic District anchored around the Springhouse and the 1910 Historic Hotel. New lodging facilities are available as the center embarks on the task of the rehabilitation of the Historic Hotel and other lodging. |

|
The Association for the Support of Children with Cancer provides social, emotional, spiritual and financial support for children with cancer and their families at MCV Hospitals. |

| LOCAL AGENCIES | ||
| YMCA Bright Beginnings | ||
|
SPC members and friends purchase specified school supplies and fill backpacks for underprivileged children. These are delivered to Midlothian and Manchester YMCA for distribution to elementary school children at Bensley and Chalkley Schools. Volunteers can also meet children for a shopping spree at Target to help them select school clothing. (August) |

| Hospitality House (MCV) | ||
|
Hospital Hospitality House is the premier Richmond area provider of lodging and non-medical services that promote the healing process in a caring, emotionally supportive, home-like environment. Referred families are served with dignity, integrity and without regard to financial resources. Hospital Hospitality House provides lodging and non-medical services to families and individuals in medical crisis. Guests are referred from physicians, staff and social workers from area hospitals. |

| Habitat for Humanity | ||
|
As a covenant partner with Habitat, SPC contributes financially to Habitat and provides volunteers for Blitz Builds and Apostle's Builds. |
||
| CCHASM | ||
|
SPC members and friends fill food bags with specified items. The food, along with a store certificate for a turkey, is delivered by CCHASM to needy families in Chesterfield and Colonial Heights. Monetary contributions can also be made to help provide the certificates for turkeys. (November) |

| VIRGINIA BLOOD SERVICES | ||
|
A drive is held at SPC every 8 or 12 weeks. Sign ups begin in the narthex for 3 weeks prior to giving blood. |

| SPC MISSION TRIPS | ||
| Appalachian Mission Trips | ||
|
Adult participants travel to Lee County VA to work on home improvement projects for residents of Appalachia. Volunteers stay at a facility operated by the Appalachian Service Project (ASP) and receive work assignments and materials from ASP. This trip is typically from Thursday through Sunday in late April or early May. |
||
| Haiti Mission Trips | ||
|
SPC sends construction, dental and medical teams to Haiti. The teams stay approximately seven days at one of four different sites. The trips are typically scheduled in October of each year. | Hurricane Katrina Mission Trips | ||
|
In August 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf coast leaving millions homeless. SPC travels to Long Beach, Mississippi to aid hurricane victims. We have partnered with Long Beach Presbyterian Church in an effort to help area residents rebuild their homes and lives. Efforts include financial support, demolition, light construction and clean-up. Ultimately our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ and let people know they are not forgotten. Please consider joining us on a future trip. |

| The Haiti Fund (CODEP) | ||
|
Our mission is to: Cooperate with and assist the people of rural Haiti by initiating, funding, administering and sustaining development programs aimed at increasing self-sufficiency. CODEP has several efforts which include watershed rehabilitation, economic development, education programs, and health initiatives all of which are ecumenical in nature and open to all residents. In addition, we have a support facility at L’Acul that serves not only as the headquarters for the work of CODEP, but also as the residence for missionaries, Rodney and Sharyn Babe, and as a guest house for visiting groups. |

| PC(USA) Missionaries in Haiti | ||
|
Rodney and Sharyn Babe are mission co-workers appointed to service in Haiti. They have served in Haiti since 1987, first with Project HELP and since 1991 with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). By invitation of the Episcopal Church of Haiti, Rodney serves as advisor to the Agricultural Development Program of the Comprehensive Development Project (CODEP), formerly known as Cormiers Development Project. Sharyn is an educational advisor for CODEP. |

| Doleans Sponsorship Program (Cité Soleil) | ||
|
Salisbury Presbyterian Church sponsors children in Haiti through Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM), a non-profit organization whose goal is to bring Christianity to the Haitians of Cité Soleil. Salisbury Presbyterian’s sponsorship of students of the Cité Soleil Christian Church Primary School is done individually by church members, by circles and by Outreach. Sponsorship of one Haitian student is $20 per month. This amount supports the child’s academic and Christian education, a hot lunch, medical care, uniform, books and supplies. |
