YOUTH GROUP
During the month of April, both youth groups will finish watching the video series AM I HAPPY?  They will continue to find out what makes them happy and how to turn negative events into positive attitudes.  If you haven’t yet come to youth group, join us in April and find out what makes you happy.

Planning on cleaning out your attic or garage? The church wide yard sale is coming this April.  Please continue to clean out those closets and save your “stuff”.  The proceeds of from the yard sale will benefit all those going on Tour 2010 to Colorado. Donations will be accepted in Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, April 14th – 16th from 3:00PM to 8:00PM in the gym and the sale will be Saturday, April 17th. YOUTH YARD SALE DETAILS:
On Saturday, April 17 SPC youth will be having a Yard Sale to raise funds for their Mission/Choir Tour to Colorado this summer.  Donations will be accepted on April 14, 15, and 16 from 3PM to 8PM at the SPC gym.  You may also drop off your donations on Sunday mornings in the designated area in the F&E Hall.  The only items we will not accept are computers and bed mattresses.  If you have items that you would like to donate but do not have a way to get them to the church, please contact the yard sale coordinator, Wendy Burchard at 378-9148 or wburchard2@verizon.net.

Youth are encouraged to sign up to help with the yard sale accepting and tagging donations on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, April 14 – 16 from 3 to 8PM and also all day on the day of the sale, Saturday, April 17.  They will get 1 tour point for every hour worked as well as community service or volunteer hours for school.  Just sign up, and show up and Babs will gladly sign your forms.  See Wendy Burchard to sign up for times.

Silent Auction - Stay tuned for some exciting details concerning this year’s Silent Auction.  In the meantime, since this is the largest fundraiser for the Youth Tour, we are asking everyone in the congregation, not just the parents of those going on Tour, to think of things that can be donated to the auction.  You might know that owner of a restaurant that if you ask, may give you a gift certificate to that establishment.  You might have things at home that could be gathered together in a themed basket that could be auctioned.  You might be willing to give a weekend at your beach house or mountain cabin that could start a bidding war.  Heidi Bassett is coordinating this year’s auction and would be happy to hear from you about ideas for items to bid on and willing volunteers to help her.  Contact her at 794-3302.

Camp Hanover - Camp Hanover is offering a Spring Break Getaway for children in grades 3 – 5, Wednesday, April 7th – Friday, April 9th.  Campers will stay in heated facilities with carefully selected and trained staff.  All meals from Wednesday lunch through Friday lunch are provided.  If you would like more information about this retreat, please contact Barbara Flynt or check the camp website at www.camphanover.org.  You may also pick up a brochure with summer camp options in the church office.
