_______________
A beautiful redesign and expansion of our Memorial Garden space is in the process of being created within the area located at the front entry to our church. It will be a special place for all our thoughts and memories.
Last spring a committee was formed to work on this garden. The space as pictured above has had a dual purpose for several years now, and the Session felt it was time to formalize a part of this area as the Memorial Garden. A design is being created for the landscape that allows for a welcoming entry to our sanctuary and creates a meditative space for the memorial area.
We are currently working working with several landscaping contractors on final plans and estimates. Along with the actual garden, we have been fortunate to have Gordon Hayes design a memorial plaque which will remember those church members who have been interred in our garden. This is also being put out for bid.
Another idea we have been working on is a "Book of Remembrance". This would be for everyone, not just for those interred in our Memorial Garden.
We need your help:
With monetary donations. If you would like to donate, please designate your gift as payable to the SPC Memorlal Garden. You may give your donation to any member of the committee listed below or place it in the offering plate on Sunday mornings.
- With volunteers willing to help out with garden maintenance. If you are interested in helping, please contact Sandy Mattes at 378-0561.
Your gifts to the Memorial Garden are permanent investments in Salisbury Presbyterian Church and in the lasting memory of beloved members of our congregation, truly a gift that keeps on giving. We urge you to prayerfully consider a special gift to the SPC Memorial Garden.
Any questions, please contact any member of the committee: Roy and Sandy Mattes, Larry Morrow, Barbara and Gordon Hays, Bev Titus, Bud Keever, Billy Allen, Dick Dows, and Elizabeth Vance.
