The Many Talents of Joseph Martin

Joseph Martin, Concert Pianist and Choral Composer

The Chancel Choir of Salisbury Church

                         Come and enjoy the many musical

                         talents of Joseph Martin, concert pianist

                         and composer of hundreds of choral

                         anthems.  A child prodigy at the keyboard,

                         Joseph performed at many concert halls. 

                         While studying music at Furman University,

                         he was accompanist for choral director and

                         composer Milburn Price and, inspired by his teaching, began to compose. He has performed solo piano recitals and has been the featured artist with symphony orchestras in the United States and Mexico. Though he continues to perform in concert, he now devotes his efforts to playing in churches and for conferences of church musicians. Recognized throughout the United States for his many choral compositions, both sacred and secular, his music is published by numerous publishing houses.

All concerts will be held in the church sanctuary.  Admission is free.  Child care is available.

Jubilation and Salisbury Ringers

 

The Jubilation Senior Adult

Community Choir, sponsored by Salisbury Presbyterian Church, and the Salisbury Ringers Adult Handbell Choir, will hold a concert of sacred, secular and show music. There will be music for everyone! Following the concert, all will be treated to ice cream sundaes in the Fellowship Hall. Over 300 guests were in attendance last year, and a great time was had by all!

Youth Choir Tour 2008 Home Shows

    Always a highlight of the year, the 80 voices of the Salisbury Presbyterian Youth Choir present a concert of sacred and inspirational music, sacred dance, handbells and puppetry. This concert, given first to the congregation and community, will be taken on Youth Choir Tour 2008 Boston in July, 2008, where the youth will work on community services projects by day and perform in mission and homeless centers in the evening.

Bradley Welch, Artist-in-Residence

at Highland Park United Methodist

Church in Dallas, TX, is an outstanding

organist who will perform a concert

appealing to all ages. A native of

Knoxville, TN, he received a Bachelor

of Music degree in Organ Performance from Baylor University and a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance at the Yale University School of Music/Institute of Sacred Music. Among the numerous prizes he has been awarded are the prestigious Horatio Parker Memorial Prize as well as the Robert Baker Prize, which is given to an incoming student at Yale who is deemed to be in the top 1-2% of the nation's young organists. In 2001, he received a Master of Musical Arts degree and in 2007 a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Yale.
